After School Programs
Weird Science provides fun packed educational after school science
programs for elementary school children. Our goal is teach basic
scientific principles through hands on learning experiments and
demonstrations.
Program #1
Magnetic Mischief – Discover how opposites attract. Participate in
magnetic experiments. Learn how compasses are used to guide
people. Make your own compass. Take home your own magnet and
compass to investigate further.
Polymer Playtime - Discover the world of chemical reactions and
polymers. Learn all about the amazing properties of silly putty. Create
your own batch of oozing slime to take home.
Volcano Madness – Learn all about volcanic forces and the lava they
erupt. Create your own erupting volcano to take home.
Amazing Dry Ice – Discover the three states of matter. Build colorful
oozing potions and make harmless exploding bubbles. Create
carbonated drinks and learn how Hollywood special effects use dry
ice to create illusions.
Mirror Magic – Explore the magic of Mirrors. Discover how magicians
use mirrors to create illusions. Create a periscope to see around
corners, over walls, and under tables.
Rocket Science – Investigate space flight, aerodynamics, and the
forces acting on rockets. Help launch a real rocket. Build your own
model rocket to take home. $5 material fee required.
Magic Minerals – Explore the forces deep inside earths crust. Learn
how minerals, rocks and gems are made. Pan for gems to take home.
CSI Time – Explore how science is used to solve crimes. Learn the
basics of forensics. Create your own Child Identification Kit to take
home.

rockets. Make your own paper helicopter. Create a Super Looper

Dramatic Static – Discover all about static electricity and how
electrons can be stored and transferred. Create tiny lightning bolts
and make soda cans race across the floor. Play with our Van de
Graaf generator. Make your own super sparker to take home.
Light Wave Wonders – Discover the science behind light. Explore
the different properties of light waves and colors. Build a bubble
observatory to take home and see the amazing colors. Learn all
about rainbows and how to create them anytime.
Molecule Madness - Investigate how molecules, atoms, and
electrons mix together. Learn how liquids flow. Create your own glitter
globe to take home.
Hear Hear Hear – Discover the secrets of sound. Learn how sounds
and voices are vibrations traveling through the air. Create your own
Ear Guitar / Telephone to take home and talk to your family and
friends. Make music by building your very own head harp to take
home.
Air Pressure Pleasure - Discover the work of Daniel Bernoulli and
Sir Isaac Newton. Explore aerodynamics and the basics of air
pressure. Defy gravity and levitate objects in the air. Ride our Weird
Science hover craft. Make your own levitation toy to take home.
Heat, Heat, Heat – Participate in launching a rocket to see how heat
is transformed into energy. Learn how heat can change the states of
matter. Make cotton candy to illustrate.
Vortex Furry – Unravel the mystery behind whirlpools, tornados,
hurricanes, dust devils and water spouts. Create a vortex machine to
take home.
